Sam Maguire was the welcome visitor to the parish on 25-26/1/11
On Tuesday evening the cup was in the clubhouse and on Wednesday it toured the schools of the parish

Alan O Connor of St Colums and Cork’s All Ireland winning footballers was guest of honour at Kilmacabea’s dinner dance in the West Cork Hotel on Friday night last 21/1/10. He presented medals to the under fourteen players who won the league and championship double in both hurling and football at divisional level. They won the County Championship in football as well as going all the way to the All Ireland in Feile. He also presented medals to the under sixteen footballers who won their league. Alan was also called on to present a Club Player of The Year trophy to Sam O Driscoll and Young Player of The Year trophy to Martin Collins as well as Club Person of The Year plaque to Kevin O Driscoll.

Club chairman Pat Burke presented mementos to the twenty-two members of the 1971 panel who were present on the night to mark the fortieth anniversary of their historic first Junior B football title for the club. The captain on that occasion John Daly spoke on behalf of his former team mates, referring in emotional terms to the privilege it were to represent their club and bring honour to their home place.

Latest news 12/1/11

Congratulations to Daniel O'Donovan, Kilmacabea who reached another milestone in the history of Kilmacabea GAA Club when he became the first player from the club to play senior football for Cork when he was part of the Cork Senior team that had a convincing victory over Waterford Institute of Technology in the McGrath cup on Sunday 9th January 2011. Daniel also got on the scoring sheet with a point.


The Kilmacabea Scor na nOg Novelty Act had great success and  preformed excellently in the recent county final which took place in Ovens on the 30th December, 2010 and were rewarded with a second place. Performing the act  called "Change the Channel" written by Emma O'Callaghan, Fiona O'Sullivan, Emer Whooley, Laura Jennings, Ashling O'Callaghan and Ashling Cahalane.


The club dinner dance takes place in the West Cork Hotel on Friday 21st January 2011 at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased through club committee.
