Last
Wednesday night the club held its monthly meeting at the GAA pavilion. Chairman
William Williamson welcomed everyone to the meeting and began by congratulating
both the U21 footballers on their fantastic championship victory and the Junior
A footballers for their great win over Gabriel Rangers in the first round of
the championship. He added that the hard work that was carried out in the early
months of the year was the catalyst for the U21’s success. The club also wished
the team the very best of luck in their upcoming County U21 game against mid Cork outfit Canovee.
The chairman
also added a vote of sympathy to the Crowley family, Kilmacabea and the
Connolly family, Reavouler and to Fr. Pat O Sullivan on their recent
bereavements. The club was also informed that the Crowley family were moved by
the large crowd, both young and old who attended the late Michael’s removal and
funeral. Michael’s nephew Willie Lawton, a fellow gael from Midleton, wished to
thank the club for the fantastic show of support by both young and older
members of the club, at the removal and for the guards of honour which the club
carried out. Ar dheis de go raibh anam.
