News 29/12/10

Happy Christmas to all and good wishes for the New Year

The annual general meeting of Kilmacabea GAA Club, which was held in the club house on Friday night 17/12/10, was a rather low key affair. All the outgoing officers were re-elected unopposed. Donie O Donovan and Timmy O Mahony had stepped down as player representatives on the club committee. They were replaced by Karl McCarthy and John O Driscoll. Two motions about distribution of match tickets and the composition of the club committee were passed unanimously. The following were appointed to take charge of football teams for the coming year, TJ Collins (Junior A), Donie O Donovan (Under 21) and William Williamson (Minor). It was decided to continue the minor hurling arrangement with Carbery Rangers under the St. Fachtna's banner. Managers of the under age hurling and football teams will be appointed at the next monthly meeting, which was fixed for Wednesday January 12th.
After the meeting the monthly club draws for November and December took place. They had been deferred from an earlier date because of the weather conditions. Ronan, Clounties; third €100 Martin O Sullivan, Droum and consolation prizes of €50 each went to Con Crowley, Glandore; Declan Hayes, Glandore; Anthony Cahalane, Clonkeen and Gerard Leonard, Reengaroga.
