Latest News 29/3/11

The junior A footballers played Kinsale on Tuesday 22nd in the Carbery Carrigdhoun league and won on the score of 2 – 11 to 1- 4. They were in action again on Sunday morning in Leap when they took on St. Colums. This was a much tougher game and without playing well were able to fashion a victory on the score 3-8 to 0-13.
On Sunday morning the U16 team travelled to Church Cross to play the home team. While the team was tight for numbers they had a slight edge and after a good game were winners on the score 3-8 to 1-7.

The U13 footballers had their first outing on Monday 28th when they travelled to play Clanna Gael. After a good game the young team ran out of steam in the second half and were unlucky to lose by the odd point. The display promises well for the year.
The club has entered U14 Feile football again this year and are a host club for games on the weekend 30th June to 2nd July. All Cork clubs had the opportunity as Cork are hosts for 2011. While there is some work involved it is a good experience for the youngsters to take part in a National event. At the moment the paperwork is being sorted. Kilmacabea are in a group with Argideen Rangers, Muintir Bhaire and a visiting team.
Thanks to all who helped out with the U21 game on Sunday in the pitch.

Latest News 23/3/11

The U15 footballers played Sam Maguires under lights in Dumanway on Tuesday22nd. At times the team played well and took some fine scores. They were made work hard by the home team who had some fine players of their own. Overall they did enough to earn victory on the score 3-13 to 2-10. Team Matthew O'Neill, Darren Whooley, Odhran Connolly, Gavin Daly, Daniel O'Sullivan, Shane O'Neill, Aidan Williamson, Martin Collins, Euan Tobin, Damian Gore, Diarmaid O'Callaghan, Shane McDermtt, Ciarán French, Kevin Whooley, Jonathan O'Regan, Issac O'Shea, Patrick O'Donovan.

Latest News 22/3/11

The junior A footballers travelled to Drimoleague on Sunday 20th March to play the home team in the Carbery-Beara league and produced another good team effort. Trailing at half time they put in a good second half to win on the score 1-15 to 0-10.
The minor footballers also played Clanna Gael in Leap on Sunday morning. They put in a good effort and while they were beaten on the score of 0-12 to 1-6 there was a lot of positives to be taken from the performance. There was also the important lesson that a bit of control is also critical to the well being of the whole group.
Fixtures especially for the underage section will be coming thick and fast from now on. There is now a fixtures masterplan and it is intended that games are to be played when fixed and there is very little scope for rescheduling. As this is the first year of this structure there are likely to be some difficulties to be ironed out but time will tell.

The club is hosting the semi final of the Clona Milk U21A football championship between Castlehaven and O Donovan Rossa on Sunday 27th March at 3pm. Any one available will be needed to help out with stewarding from 1.30pm onwards.

Latest News 14/3/11

Gerard Leonard, Reengaroga was the first prize winner in the March monthly club draw. Second was John Keohane, Glandore Road and third went to Pat and Brenda Whooley, Shreelane. Consolation prizes were won by Karl O Keeffe, c/o Milleenanimrish; Jim Calnan, Glandore; Wm. and Maureen Roycroft, Ardagh and Norma Whelton, Clounties.
The junior A footballers travelled to Ballygarvan on Tuesday 8th March to play the home team in the Carbery-Carrigdhoun league and made the journey worthwhile with a win on the score 0 - 13 to 1 - 3. The U15 footballers travelled to play Ballincollig on Saturday 12th March and also came away with a win. They continued on and took in the National League game between Cork and Down to make it a very enjoyable day out.
The Kilmacabea Scor na bPaistí Instrumental music group were successful in Ballydehob on Sunday 13th March in the County semi-final. The group of  Ross Cantwell(Drombeg), Ciarán French (Knockaneacrohy), Chantelle French(Knockaneacrohy), Amy O'Donovan(Killenleigh) and Julieanne Williamson(Killenleigh) now go on to compete in the County Final on Sunday 3rd  April in Eire Og.

Weekend Fixtures to 13/3/10

Fixtures 
U15 Football v Ballincollig on Saturday 12th March at 4pm in Ballincollig
Minor Football v Caha Gaels on Sunday 13th March at 11.30am in Adrigole.
The Scor na nOg music group are in the County Semi final in Ballydehob on Sunday 13th  at 2.30pm

Results 
The U21 footballers were in championship action on Saturday 5th March when they took on Kilmeen in Ardfield. They started reasonably well but never really got going. After the early exchanges when they had the majority of possession they were not making progress with scores. When Kilmeen goaled just before half time they went in ahead 1-6 to 0-5 and now had the momentum. The Kilmacs kept working hard but the scores would not come and Kilmeen kept tagging on and eventually were the winners on the day 2-14 to 0-10.

The Junior A's played Valley Rovers in the league on Sunday and had a welcome win on the score 3-15 to 0-4.

Latest News 4/3/11

Kilmacabea GAA Club express their sadness on hearing of the loss of Bill Wolfe, Kilfinnan, Glandore who passed away on Thursday 3/3/11. The Club extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Anne Marie and his family and many friends. Bill was a great servant of the Club both as a player and an  administrator as well as a keen supporter through the years. He was captain of the successful  junior football team in 1959 and later served as Club Chairman and Secretary. The Wolfe family continue to play their part in the club with son Liam involved in 2010. Bill was a craftsman in his work, was always good company and enjoyed a bit of craic.

Latest News 1/3/11

The U21 footballers are in championship action on this Saturday 5th March when they take on Kilmeen in Ardfield at 4.15pm. Support would be welcome.
There is also an U21 championship game fixed for Leap on Saturday at 2pm with Carbery Rangers vs. O’Donovan Rossa. Anyone who can help out would be welcome.
