Kilmacabea GAA held its Annual General Meeting on Friday
30th November at The GAA Pavilion at 8pm. A large enthuastic crowd
was welcomed by chairman William Williamson. He thanked all club officers and
members for their efforts throughout the year and especially Treasurer Pat O
Callaghan who stepped down from his position after 25 years of service. The
chairman also added special words of congratulations to the U13 and Junior C
footballers who won their respective championships and also to the Minor
footballers who won their section of the league. He thanked the Finance
Committee for their huge effort in reviving a Festival in the parish and
thanked all those for making it a huge success, the adjoining landowners James
Crowley and Brian Sheahan for the use of their land for the hosting of large
games. Martin Collins, Kilmacabea was congratulated for his success with the
various Cork underage development squads and also the other members of the club
who were involved in various Carbery and Cork teams throughout the year. He
finished by remembering all those club members who have lost loved one’s
throughout the year.
Secretary Donal O Donovan gave his usual comprehensive
report of club activities for the year, most notable of these were the hosting
of the Junior A Football Final in September and also the revival of the
Community/Club Festival in August. He also thanked Pat O Callaghan for the
sterling service that he has given the club as treasurer over the past 25 years
and hoped that he would remain involved in the club for many years to come. He
also wished all teams and club members the very best wishes for 2013.
Treasurer Pat O Callaghan gave his final financial report as
treasurer and reported that the club as a whole was in a good financial state
going into the future. He wished his successor all the best in the position and
hopes to be involved in club matters for many years to come.

Club membership has been set at €50 for adults, €20
for students and Underage €10. All new members are welcome. All involved in Underage
teams are asked to attended a meeting in the GAA Pavilion on Friday 7th
December at 9pm. Also members are reminded that all nominations for Player,
Young Player and Club Person of the year should be given to Donal O Donovan as
soon as possible. Club gear is also available; please contact Angela O Donovan
