The U16 footballers played Kilmeen in Leap on Tuesday 26th April. The visitors made a good start but as the game progressed the Kilmacs settled. After a good competitive contest they made the best of the scoring opportunities and were victorious on the score 5-17 to 1-10. They were in action again against Naomh Aban on Sunday in Ballyvourney. With some players missing and a double yellow before half time they had to give best to the home team. The U15 football team travelled to play Inniscarra on Thursday night and had to give way to a physically stronger and better balanced side on the score 5-10 to 4-14. The U12 footballers played St. Mary’s in Ballineen on Saturday morning in a game played in the spirit of the sport. The U14 footballers played Clanna Gael in Leap on Sunday morning and after a enjoyable game between two evenly matched sides, got the breaks to win on the score 6-9 to 4-5. Team Adrian Gore, Jamie O'Donoghue, Tiernan Kerrisk, Andrew O'Donovan, Ellis Wilson, CiarĂ¡n French, Sean French, Issac O'Shea, Matthew O'Neill(1-5), Myles Tobin, Ross Cantwell(2-1), Ian Jennings(2-1), Patrick O'Donovan, Damian Gore(1-1), Ashley Deane, Gareth Whooley, Eoin O'Sullivan(0-1).The junior B Football team were too strong for Bere Island on the score of 4-14 to 1-5 in Leap on Saturday evening.
The club would like to express sympathy to the Sheehan family, Leap on the death of their mother and grandmother Betty. The club are hosting the 1st round Cork County Senior football championship match between Carbery Rangers and Ilen Rovers on Friday evening 6th May at 7.30pm. All available help will be needed for stewarding.
