Club members are reminded that the club are again running the sports prophet fundraiser competition. This is a competition based on predicting the winners of 25 sporting events during the year. Anyone can enter and a huge sporting knowledge isn’t necessary as the preferred options can also be viewed. Entry can be either online by logging on to www.sportsprophet.ie and selecting Kilmacabea and making the selection. Further information can be got by contacting Dan Hourihane or any club member for information. Selections need to be made in the next few weeks and ideally before the 1st March as events, which are part of the competition will be nearing completion soon afterwards. It gives any one with a broad interest in sport an ideal opportunity to test their knowledge and gives a little more interest to results. There are good financial rewards for the top 3 finishers. The winner of the 2011 competition was Michael McCarthy, Ardfield, 2nd Karl McCarthy, Aughatubber and third was Karl O’Keeffe, Clashmore, Co Waterford.
The playing season starts again this week and the first team into competitive action are the minor footballers in the league when they play Kilmeen in Leap on this Saturday 18th February at 4pm.
The club website needs to be resurrected and needs looking after. If any one out there that is willing and able they are more than welcome to take charge of it for the coming year. Contact Michael Tobin at pro.kilmacabea.cork@gaa.ie or 086 4055764
