Notes 6/2/12

Registration night to be held on this Friday 10th February, 8 to 9pm in the clubhouse.
Club gear will also be available. It is important that registration is completed to have the most up to date information for all players to submit club registration to enter competitions.

A hugely enjoyable night was the presentation night for the successful underage teams on Saturday 4th February. Cathrach Keane, Newcestown and captain of the 2011, Cork All Ireland winning junior football team presented medals to teams including the minor hurlers, the U16 hurlers and footballers and the U13 footballers. The under 8, 10 and 12 players were also recognised on the night.

Sheila McCarthy presented the cup in memory of her son Jonathan O’Regan to the club player of the year Kevin O’Sullivan. Young player of the year went to Richie O’Sullivan and club person of the year went to Michael Crowley. These were the choice of the club members and each one was a worthy winner, having made huge contributions to Kilmacabea GAA club in 2011 and over many years.

A number of locals were successful recently in the Scor na bPaistí competition held in Ballydehob on Friday 27th January. They include Solo Singing - Grace O’Sullivan, Recitation  - Kate O’Donovan and Chantelle French, Music Group – Davina Connolly, Saoirse Connolly, Chantelle French, Katelyn French, Aoife McNamara and Quiz – Gareth Whooley, Mary Clare Williamson and Ellis Wilson.

The draw for the Junior A football championship was made recently and Kilmacabea were drawn against Barryroe in the first round which should take place in April.
The U21 footballers are fixed to play Tadgh MacCartaigh in the first round of the championship in Skibbereen on Saturday 25th February at 3pm.
